Product Description
Color: Promise
Willow Tree Promise Figurine - Hold dear the promise of love. Male and female figures embracing in dance pose. Resin. 9" high. Comes gift boxed. Since 2000, Susan Lordi has been creating these figurative sculptures that speak in quiet ways of deep emotion and inspiration. Artist Susan Lordi carves each original sculpture, then pieces are cast from her original carving in resin and individually painted by hand. Expression is conveyed by gestures only - a tilt of the head, a turn of the body, or placement of the hands. The simplicity of form and the absence of facial features signify Willow Tree. Emotions are left to the viewer to interpret, which makes them powerful and personal. It is Susan Lordi's hope that these pieces be meaningful to both the giver and the receiver.

Willow Tree Figurine
Customer Reviews
I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my sister, but when I received it, I was surprised to find that these are actually two separate figurines that you must place together in the right position to look as though they are clasping hands. I love Willow Tree and have given many as gifts, so I still rate this highly. However, I think that this should have been noted in the item description. For me, the symbolic meaning of this piece would be much more powerful if it was carved as one. To me, it felt odd to have to push them together, and also to have them apart. Then it looks like two women praying. I thought I should mention this in the review in case this detail makes a difference to you as it did for me. I guess on the upside, if they are separated and each person keeps one, it's sort of like a friendship locket?
I received this figurine from a friend after my first miscarriage. It really touched me. I have it sitting where I can see it, along with a similar figurine of a mom holding her two children. I just ordered a second figurine just like this for my second miscarriage. I like to think of my two little ones in heaven being held by an angel for me until I arrive to hold them myself. I find it very comforting.
